STOURHEAD GARDENS ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
Hayley and Adam's engagement session in the gardens of the National Trust's Stourhead was perfect for this outdoorsy couple, who described their perfect weekend together as having a 'weekend away walking, enjoying good food and drinking'.
They met each other through online dating a few years back, and now they are in their final few weeks of planning their wedding! According to Adam, Hayley was half an hour late when they went on their first date, but of course Hayley stepped in to correct him that it was actually only ten minutes!
Adam (a Royal Navy Aircraft Engineer) proposed to Hayley (a district Nurse) during a trip to one of their favourite beaches. Adam had obviously been planning the proposal, and was all set when the weather turned and, in their words, everything about the trip started going wrong, particularly with the weather, but that wasn't enough to stop them and gladly Hayley was still able to say "YES!!"
Once they made the decision to book me for their wedding (thanks guys!) we started to discuss their plans for their wedding and book in their complimentary Engagement Shoot.
Neither of them had really done a photo session before so it was a great opportunity to get to know them a bit more and get them comfortable with me, my equipment, and the way I work. This is why I always recommend doing these sessions, and why I offer it as a complimentary session with each photography booking. Like many couples, at first they were both a little hesitant, but after the first few 'awkward' photos were done, they completely relaxed and became natural posers.
While we made our way around the grounds (trying to avoid the crowds of people!) we chatted and got to know much more about each other and of course discussed their plans for their wedding day in a few weeks time. I don't want to give too much away, but it's going to have a very relaxed, chilled and rustic vibe, with the ceremony taking place at their local church, followed by their reception at a brand new venue!
